Description

Enjoy crispy and healthy Air Fryer Okra with this easy Southern-inspired recipe. This air fried okra delivers golden crunch, tender inside, and minimal oil — perfect as a quick snack or side dish. Try this low-oil okra recipe today!

Ingredients

2 cups okra fresh or frozen

sliced if fresh 1/2 cup

cornmeal 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 large egg 2 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

cooking spray or light oil

Instructions

1. Rinse and dry fresh okra (or keep frozen if using frozen). Slice into bite-sized pieces if fresh. In one bowl, whisk egg and milk together. In another, mix cornmeal, flour, salt, and pepper. Dip each okra piece in the egg mixture, then dredge in the cornmeal-flour mixture to coat evenly. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and arrange okra in a single layer with space between pieces. Air fry at 400°F for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy. Serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh okra if in season for best flavor and texture. Keep frozen okra frozen during coating to avoid sogginess. Shake the basket halfway to ensure even browning.
