Description

This Asian Korean Beef Bowls recipe is a quick and easy 30-minute meal packed with Korean BBQ flavor. Ground beef is cooked with garlic, soy sauce, and brown sugar, then served over rice for a savory-sweet dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Great for meal prep and easy to customize with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

2 cups cooked rice

2 green onions, chopped

1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced or 1 fried egg (optional for topping)

Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up while cooking. Cook until browned completely. Drain excess fat if necessary.

2. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

3. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir to coat the beef. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

4. Serve the beef over bowls of warm cooked rice.

5. Top with chopped green onions and cucumber slices or a fried egg if desired. Enjoy warm.

Notes

This dish reheats beautifully and works great for meal prep.

Adjust spice level by changing the amount of red pepper flakes.

Swap beef with ground turkey or tofu for a different take.
