Description

These Banana Bread Brownies are a moist, buttery twist on classic banana bread, glazed to perfection. Made with ripe bananas, sour cream, and a simple vanilla icing, they’re the best banana dessert bars. Perfect for using overripe bananas and ideal for potlucks or afternoon snacks.


Ingredients

1 cup butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

2 ripe bananas, mashed

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Glaze:

2 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then mix in sour cream, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.

5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7. While brownies are baking, mix glaze ingredients in a bowl until smooth.

8. Once brownies are out of the oven, pour glaze over the top while still warm.

9. Let the glaze set as the brownies cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor.

Don’t overmix the batter after adding flour.

Let the glaze set before slicing for cleaner cuts.
