Description
A cheesy, family-friendly Beef Dorito Casserole made with layers of taco-seasoned ground beef, creamy sauce, shredded cheese, and crunchy nacho Doritos. This comforting dinner bake is perfect for busy weeknights or potluck gatherings.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup salsa
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
5 cups nacho cheese Doritos, crushed
optional toppings: green onions, jalapeños, black olives, diced tomatoes
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
3. Stir in taco seasoning, salsa, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
4. Layer half of the crushed Doritos in the bottom of the baking dish.
5. Spoon half of the beef mixture over the chips, then sprinkle with half of the cheese.
6. Repeat the layers: Doritos, beef mixture, and remaining cheese.
7. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. Remove from oven and top with desired garnishes. Serve warm.
Notes
This recipe can be prepped a day in advance and baked when ready.
Swap the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
Add black beans or corn to the beef mixture for extra texture and flavor.
