Description

This Best Chicken Parmesan recipe is a crispy, cheesy classic that features golden breaded chicken breasts, rich marinara, and melty mozzarella. Ingredients

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 ½ cups Italian-style breadcrumbs

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2 cups marinara sauce

¼ cup olive oil

2 tbsp fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound to ½ inch thickness. Season with salt and pepper.

2. Set up three shallow bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and a mix of breadcrumbs and Parmesan in the third.

3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, then press into breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture to coat.

4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry each piece for 3–4 minutes per side until golden.

5. Transfer chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

6. Preheat oven to 425°F. Arrange chicken in a baking dish, spoon marinara over each piece, then top with mozzarella and a sprinkle of Parmesan.

7. Bake 12–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and melted.

8. Garnish with chopped basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

Let the chicken rest after baking to allow the cheese to settle.

Use low-moisture mozzarella for better melt and less sogginess.
