Description

This Best Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe is an easy, flavorful, and juicy pork dish perfect for sandwiches, tacos, and more. Made with pork shoulder, smoky seasonings, and finished with BBQ sauce, this pulled pork is a slow cooker favorite and freezer-friendly comfort food.


Ingredients

4 to 5 pounds pork shoulder

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon paprika

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons onion powder

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 cup barbecue sauce


Instructions

1. Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels.

2. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub all over the pork.

3. Place the seasoned pork into the slow cooker.

4. Add apple cider vinegar to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or high for 5–6 hours.

5. Once the pork is tender, transfer it to a large bowl and shred using two forks. Discard large pieces of fat.

6. Return shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir in the barbecue sauce.

7. Let it warm through for 15–20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use pork shoulder or Boston butt for the best results.

You can crisp the shredded pork in a skillet for extra texture.

Add extra barbecue sauce to taste depending on how saucy you like it.
