Description

These soft and fluffy Blueberry Cinnamon Rolls are swirled with juicy blueberries, cinnamon sugar, and topped with a luscious cream cheese glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy sweet treat, this blueberry cinnamon roll recipe is easy to make and bursting with fruity flavor. Great with fresh or frozen blueberries and ideal for freezing or serving fresh from the oven.

Ingredients

1 cup warm milk

2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast

⅓ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon salt

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

1 ½ cups blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1 tablespoon cornstarch

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

2. Add the sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Mix well.

3. Add the flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.

4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.

5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.

6. If using frozen blueberries, toss with cornstarch to reduce moisture.

7. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.

8. Spread softened butter on the dough, then evenly sprinkle cinnamon sugar and blueberries.

9. Roll the dough into a log and slice into 12 even rolls using a sharp knife or floss.

10. Place rolls into a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden and cooked through.

12. While baking, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

13. Spread the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

If using frozen blueberries, do not thaw to avoid excess liquid.

Use dental floss to slice rolls cleanly without squishing them.

Let rolls cool slightly before glazing for a soft melt but not too runny.
