Description

These soft, buttery Cardamom Cookies are a fragrant and elegant twist on traditional butter cookies. Spiced with citrusy-sweet ground cardamom and made with pantry staples, this recipe is perfect for holidays, afternoon tea, or everyday indulgence. A must-try spiced cookie recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

0.75 cup powdered sugar

1.5 teaspoons ground cardamom

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

0.25 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. In a mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Mix in the vanilla extract and ground cardamom, blending thoroughly.

3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, stirring until a soft dough forms.

4. Shape dough into balls or flatten into rounds, place on lined baking sheet.

5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12–14 minutes until bottoms are just golden.

6. Let cool 5 minutes on tray, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Let cookies cool fully before storing to maintain texture.

Use fresh cardamom for the brightest flavor.

The cookies taste even better the next day.
