Ingredients
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and vegetable oil until smooth.
2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
4. Gradually stir dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a thick dough forms.
5. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
6. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls.
7. Coat each dough ball generously in powdered sugar.
8. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
9. Bake in preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Cookies will be soft out of the oven but firm up as they cool.
For extra fudgy centers, slightly underbake by 1 minute.
Double coat with powdered sugar for a more dramatic crinkle.
