Description
A creamy and comforting Chicken Apple Sausage One Pan Pasta recipe that brings together sweet, smoky sausage, pasta, and spinach in a rich garlic cream sauce. Perfect for weeknights, this easy one-skillet dinner is family-friendly, quick, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
12 oz chicken apple sausage
1 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz penne pasta
2 1/2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
3 cups baby spinach
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Slice the chicken apple sausage into rounds and heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the sausage slices on both sides until golden and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Then pour in the dry pasta and chicken broth, stirring everything together.
3. Let the mixture come to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The pasta should be nearly tender and most of the broth absorbed.
4. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer uncovered for another 3-5 minutes, letting the sauce thicken.
5. Add the baby spinach and stir until wilted. Finish with grated parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to taste. Serve warm straight from the skillet.
Notes
This recipe works best with short-cut pasta like penne or rotini.
Use pre-cooked chicken apple sausage to save time and ensure quick browning.
If reheating leftovers, add a splash of cream or broth to refresh the sauce.
