Ingredients

2 large chicken breasts

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1.5 cups plain breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon salt

0.5 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

0.5 cup vegetable oil (for frying)


Instructions

1. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Pound to 1/4 inch thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.

2. Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

3. Coat each chicken piece in flour, shake off excess, then dip in egg, and finally press into the seasoned breadcrumb mixture.

4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding.

5. Transfer cooked schnitzel to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Chicken must be evenly pounded to ensure uniform cooking.

For crispier texture, use panko breadcrumbs instead of plain.

Serve immediately with lemon wedges for a bright finishing touch.
