Description

Chinese Beef and Broccoli is a quick and flavorful stir fry made with tender slices of beef and crisp broccoli coated in a rich savory garlic sauce. This easy homemade version delivers takeout style flavor using simple ingredients.


Ingredients

1 lb beef flank steak thinly sliced

3 cups broccoli florets

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

3 cloves garlic minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons cooking oil


Instructions

1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain and toss it with soy sauce and cornstarch then let it rest for 10 minutes

2. Blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes then drain and set aside

3. Heat oil in a pan and quickly sear the beef until browned then remove from the pan

4. Sauté garlic and ginger then add soy sauce oyster sauce beef broth and brown sugar and let it simmer

5. Return beef and broccoli to the pan toss well and cook until the sauce thickens then finish with sesame oil

Notes

Slice beef against the grain for best texture

Do not overcook broccoli to keep it crisp
