Description

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

¾ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)

1 cup buttercream frosting

3 tablespoons holiday sprinkles


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Leave some overhang for easy lifting.

2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. In another large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and almond extract.

5. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.

6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula or clean hands.

7. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until edges are just golden. Cool completely in the pan.

8. Spread buttercream frosting over the cooled bars.

9. Decorate with sprinkles.

10. Slice into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

Make sure the bars are fully cooled before frosting.

For a fun twist, tint the frosting red or green.

Add crushed candy canes or edible glitter for extra flair.
