Description

This Classic Meatloaf recipe is the ultimate comfort food made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a savory-sweet glaze. Perfect for family dinners, it’s juicy, flavorful, and easy to make with pantry staples. Great for meal prep, leftovers, and freezing.

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef

1 cup breadcrumbs

1/2 cup milk

2 large eggs

1 small yellow onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a loaf pan or lined baking sheet.

2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.

3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan.

4. Bake for 30 minutes.

5. While it bakes, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to make the glaze.

6. After 30 minutes, spread glaze over the loaf and return to oven.

7. Bake an additional 25–30 minutes, until the center reaches 160°F.

8. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Letting the meatloaf rest before slicing helps keep it moist and intact.

Do not overmix the meat mixture to avoid a dense loaf.

Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 160°F in the center.
