Make your own Copycat McDonald’s Big Mac at home with this easy recipe, complete with the iconic special sauce, layered sesame seed buns, and juicy beef patties. The best homemade Big Mac burger that brings fast food flavor to your kitchen. Great for burger night, cookouts, or quick dinners.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 pound ground beef
6 sesame seed hamburger buns (use extra bottoms for middle layers)
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
4 slices American cheese
12 pickle slices
1/4 cup finely diced white onion
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Whisk together mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to make the special sauce. Chill for 15–30 minutes.
2. Divide ground beef into thin, wide patties. Season with salt and pepper. Cook on skillet or grill for 2–3 minutes per side.
3. Lightly toast all bun layers, including the middle bun piece.
4. Spread special sauce on bottom bun, then layer onion, lettuce, pickles, one patty. Add middle bun, repeat layering with cheese slice and another patty.
5. Top with the final bun layer and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Use thin patties for that true McDonald’s feel.
Chill the sauce to deepen the flavor.
Toast the buns lightly for best texture and to avoid sogginess.
