Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup cold butter

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

¾ cup milk

8 ounces lump crab meat

4 ounces cream cheese softened

2 green onions sliced

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.

2. Cut in the cold butter until pea-sized crumbs form.

3. Stir in shredded cheddar, then add milk gradually until a soft dough forms.

4. In another bowl, mix lump crab meat, softened cream cheese, green onions, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.

5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet.

6. Scoop about two tablespoons of dough, flatten, and place a spoonful of crab filling in the center.

7. Fold dough over filling, shaping into a ball, seam-side down on baking sheet.

8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm for best taste.

Use lump crab meat for best texture.

Reheat leftovers at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
