Description

This crispy cheddar chicken recipe features juicy chicken breasts coated in a golden, crunchy cheddar and cracker crust. An easy weeknight dinner packed with flavor, kid-friendly, and perfect with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.

Ingredients

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

2 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese

2 cups crushed Ritz crackers

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

1. Cut each chicken breast in half lengthwise to create thin cutlets. Pat them dry.

2. Whisk eggs in a shallow dish. In another dish, combine grated cheddar, crushed crackers, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

3. Dip each chicken cutlet in the egg wash, then press into the cheddar-cracker mixture to coat evenly.

4. Place coated chicken on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, until golden and cooked through.

6. Rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Patting chicken dry helps the coating stick better.

Use freshly grated cheddar for the best melt and crisp.

Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer to keep them crispy.
