Ingredients
4 cube steaks
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup beef broth
1 packet onion soup mix
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional)
2 tablespoons water (optional, for slurry)
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, beef broth, onion soup mix, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
2. Place the cube steaks in the bottom of the Crockpot and pour the gravy mixture on top, ensuring all steaks are covered.
3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until the steak is tender and flavorful.
4. For thicker gravy, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir into the Crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
5. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
Use round steak or chuck steak if cube steak isn’t available, but be sure to tenderize it first.
Cornstarch slurry is optional, only if you prefer a thicker gravy texture.
Leftovers reheat beautifully and the gravy can be thinned with a splash of broth if needed.
