Description

This Crockpot Dr Pepper Chicken recipe is an easy slow cooker meal that blends sweet Dr Pepper and smoky BBQ sauce for tender, flavorful shredded chicken. Great for weeknight dinners, game day sliders, or family gatherings. Perfect crockpot chicken recipe with a twist!

Ingredients

2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 can (12 ounces) Dr Pepper

1 cup barbecue sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.

2. Pour the Dr Pepper and barbecue sauce over the chicken.

3. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, and salt evenly on top.

4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 4 hours.

5. Once cooked, shred the chicken in the crockpot using two forks.

6. Stir the shredded chicken into the sauce to coat evenly.

7. Serve warm on buns, rice, or as desired.

Notes

Make sure not to overcook the chicken or it can become mushy.

You can substitute with chicken thighs for extra juiciness.

Taste and adjust seasoning after shredding if needed.
