Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage
20 slices pepperoni
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 deep dish pie crust or pizza dough
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and sausage, breaking them apart while cooking until browned. Drain excess grease.
2. Add chopped onion and garlic to the same skillet. Sauté until softened and fragrant. Return the cooked meat to the pan.
3. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper. Pour in the marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 5–7 minutes.
4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough into a deep dish pie pan. Add half of the meat mixture, a layer of pepperoni, then mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat the layers.
5. If using a second crust, place it over the top and seal the edges. Brush with egg wash.
6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
