Description

This Easy Pioneer Woman Classic Lasagna recipe is a hearty, family-friendly dinner featuring rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta layers, and melty mozzarella. Perfect for meal prep, potlucks, or a cozy weekend dinner, this classic lasagna is freezer-friendly, feeds a crowd, and delivers bold Italian flavor with pantry staples.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

28 ounces crushed tomatoes

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

15 ounces ricotta cheese

1 large egg

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

12 lasagna noodles (regular or no-boil)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.

2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15–20 minutes.

4. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, a pinch of salt, and half of the Parmesan cheese until smooth.

5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce.

7. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, then spoon on some ricotta mixture, sprinkle mozzarella, and add more meat sauce.

8. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up, ending with sauce and a final layer of mozzarella and Parmesan on top.

9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.

10. Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.

11. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Let it sit before slicing — this helps the layers hold together better.

You can use no-boil noodles, just ensure all parts are well covered in sauce.
