Description
These Festive Toffee Candied Walnuts are the ultimate holiday snack — sweet, crunchy, and packed with warm cinnamon toffee flavor. Easy to make and perfect for gifting, they’re a delicious seasonal treat you’ll want to make year-round. Ideal for holiday grazing boards, edible gifts, or a sweet topping for salads and desserts.
Ingredients
3 cups walnut halves
1 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter, water, cinnamon, and salt. Stir over medium heat until the mixture starts to boil and sugar is dissolved.
3. Add walnut halves and stir to coat thoroughly. Continue cooking for 3 to 5 minutes until most liquid is evaporated and walnuts are glossy.
4. Quickly transfer the coated walnuts to the prepared baking sheet and spread them out to prevent clumping.
5. Allow to cool at room temperature. As they cool, the coating will harden into a crisp toffee shell.
6. Once fully cooled, break apart any clusters and store in an airtight container.
Notes
Let walnuts cool completely before storing to prevent stickiness.
You can substitute pecans, almonds, or cashews in the same amount.
Try adding a pinch of cayenne for a sweet-and-spicy twist.
