Ingredients

300g sirloin steak, cubed

250g cheese tortellini

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons reserved pasta water

1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add cubed steak in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.

3. Boil tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and reserve 2 tablespoons of pasta water.

4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

5. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

6. Stir in heavy cream and reserved pasta water. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.

7. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce thickens slightly.

8. Add cooked tortellini and steak back into the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce.

9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

10. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Make sure steak pieces are uniform for even cooking.

Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.

Don’t overcook tortellini—they should be al dente for the best texture.
