Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
2. Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
3. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour over the meat mixture and stir to coat evenly.
4. Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
5. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer until the gravy thickens.
6. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
7. Stir in melted butter and milk until a sticky dough forms.
8. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough over the simmering beef mixture.
9. Cover the skillet with a lid and reduce heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
10. Check dumplings for doneness and serve hot with extra gravy.
Notes
This recipe works best with 80/20 ground beef for rich flavor.
If your dumplings aren’t cooking through, increase steaming time by a few minutes.
Add chopped herbs or shredded cheese to the dumpling mix for extra flavor.
