Description
This Ground Beef Stroganoff recipe is a creamy, comforting one-skillet dinner made with tender ground beef, mushrooms, egg noodles, and sour cream. Perfect for busy weeknights, this classic beef stroganoff is quick, easy, and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
8 oz egg noodles
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add diced onions and mushrooms and sauté for 5–6 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
3. Sprinkle the flour over the veggies and stir to coat evenly. Gradually add the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce.
4. Return the browned ground beef to the skillet. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Do not boil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and mix into the beef sauce or serve it on top.
Notes
Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley or chives for color.
To lighten the dish, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
Add extra mushrooms for more umami depth.
