Description
This homemade chocolate granola is a crunchy, naturally sweetened breakfast or snack option packed with oats, nuts, and rich cocoa flavor. Perfect for yogurt, smoothie bowls, or a cereal alternative, this gluten-free and vegan granola is simple to make and deeply satisfying.
Ingredients
3 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup raw nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts)
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup coconut oil
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, nuts, shredded coconut, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix well.
3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the coconut oil, then stir in maple syrup and vanilla extract.
4. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until fully coated.
5. Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, stirring halfway through. Let cool completely on the tray.
7. Once cooled, mix in the dark chocolate chunks or chips.
8. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
Notes
Use certified gluten-free oats if needed.
Don’t add chocolate chips while granola is hot or they’ll melt.
Stir halfway through baking to prevent uneven browning.
