Description

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

4 oz cream cheese

1 cup granulated sugar

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

¼ teaspoon salt

⅓ cup brown sugar

1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 cup powdered sugar

1 ½ tablespoons milk


Instructions

1. Cream the butter, cream cheese, and sugar together until fluffy.

2. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla extract until combined.

3. Gradually add in flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.

4. Shape the dough into a rectangle, wrap, and chill for 1 hour.

5. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

6. Roll the chilled dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.

7. Evenly sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over the dough.

8. Roll the dough tightly into a log and wrap in plastic wrap.

9. Freeze for 20 minutes to firm, then slice into ¼-inch rounds.

10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until golden at the edges.

11. Cool completely before glazing.

12. Whisk powdered sugar and milk into a smooth glaze.

13. Drizzle glaze over cookies and let it set before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature butter and cream cheese for easier blending.

Chill your dough well to prevent spreading.

Add a dash of nutmeg to the filling for extra warmth.
