Ingredients
8 cups brioche or challah bread, cubed
8 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter, for greasing dish
Instructions
1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish generously with butter.
2. Cut bread into thick cubes and spread evenly in the dish.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
4. Pour the custard over the bread, pressing gently to ensure full absorption.
5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
