Description

Italian Nachos Chicago-Style are crispy wonton nachos loaded with Italian sausage, melted mozzarella, banana peppers, and a rich Alfredo drizzle. This easy appetizer recipe is perfect for game day, parties, or a fun Italian-inspired snack packed with bold flavor and cheesy goodness.


Ingredients

8 oz wonton wrappers

1 lb Italian sausage

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced black olives

1/2 cup banana peppers

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1 cup Alfredo sauce

2 tbsp chopped fresh basil or parsley

Oil for frying


Instructions

1. Cut wonton wrappers into triangles and fry them in hot oil until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels.

2. Cook the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles.

3. Arrange a layer of crispy wonton chips on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish.

4. Top with sausage, mozzarella, olives, banana peppers, and tomatoes, repeating layers if desired.

5. Broil for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Remove from the oven, drizzle with warm Alfredo sauce, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Make sure not to overcrowd the pan when frying wontons so they stay crispy.

You can swap Alfredo sauce with marinara if you prefer a tangier flavor.
