Description

Italian Stromboli is the ultimate homemade comfort food, stuffed with melty cheese, savory deli meats, and flavorful herbs all rolled into golden pizza dough. This easy Stromboli recipe is perfect for family dinners, game day snacks, or party appetizers. Learn how to make a crispy, cheesy Stromboli that feeds a crowd and freezes beautifully.

Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough

4 oz sliced ham

4 oz sliced salami

3 oz pepperoni slices

1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tbsp olive oil

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)

1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

1. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle approximately 10×14 inches. Let it rest if it’s too elastic.

2. Evenly layer ham, salami, and pepperoni over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.

3. Add shredded cheese across the top of the meats and sprinkle evenly with Italian seasoning.

4. Starting on the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam and the ends to seal.

5. Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

6. Brush the top with olive oil or beaten egg for shine. Score the top lightly with a knife to vent steam.

7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

8. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side.

Notes

Use room temperature dough for easier rolling.

Don’t overfill to prevent tearing or bursting during baking.

You can prep this ahead and freeze it before or after baking.
