Ingredients
1 steak (ribeye, filet mignon, or NY strip)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter (divided)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Season the steak with salt and pepper on both sides and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking. Add 1 tablespoon butter in the last minute and spoon over steak.
3. Transfer steak to a plate, cover with foil, and let it rest for 8 minutes.
4. Reduce the skillet heat to medium. Add remaining butter and garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
5. Pour in heavy cream, stir, and scrape up any browned bits. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
6. Stir in parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
7. Slice the steak and drizzle with garlic cream sauce. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
Use a thick cut of steak for best results.
Letting the steak rest ensures juicy, tender slices.
Reheat sauce gently with a splash of cream to maintain smooth texture.
