Ingredients
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 packages ramen noodles
1 tablespoon gochujang
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon water
Optional: 1 fried egg per serving
Optional: sesame seeds, pickled veggies, cucumber, shredded carrots
Instructions
1. Boil ramen noodles according to package instructions but undercook by one minute. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
3. Add garlic and gochujang to the pan. Stir to coat the beef and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
4. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir and let simmer until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
5. Add the noodles to the skillet. Toss well to combine and coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes.
6. Drizzle sesame oil over the noodles and toss again.
7. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and optional toppings like fried egg or pickled veggies. Serve hot.
Notes
Make sure not to overcook the noodles as they continue cooking in the sauce.
You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for the beef.
Feel free to add vegetables like julienned carrots, spinach, or mushrooms to boost nutrition.
