Description

This Mediterranean Baked Feta with Olives & Sun-Dried Tomatoes is an easy and flavorful appetizer made with creamy feta, briny olives, and sweet sun-dried tomatoes. Perfect for a Mediterranean diet or mezze board, it’s a warm, cheesy dip that’s ideal for parties or cozy nights in. Baked to perfection in olive oil and herbs, it’s a must-try for feta lovers and fans of simple, elegant dishes.

Ingredients

1 block feta cheese

0.5 cup Kalamata olives, sliced

0.5 cup sun-dried tomatoes in oil, chopped

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 cloves fresh garlic, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian herbs

0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1 loaf crusty bread or pita, for serving

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Place the block of feta in a small baking dish that holds it snugly.

3. Surround the feta with sliced Kalamata olives and sun-dried tomatoes.

4. Scatter thin garlic slices around the feta.

5. Drizzle everything with olive oil.

6. Sprinkle dried oregano and red pepper flakes over the top.

7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the feta is golden and soft.

8. Remove from oven and let it cool slightly.

9. Garnish with fresh parsley.

10. Serve warm with crusty bread or pita for dipping.

Notes

Let the feta sit for 2–3 minutes after baking to firm slightly before serving.

Use high-quality feta made from sheep’s or goat’s milk for best flavor.

Avoid pre-crumbled feta as it doesn’t melt as well.
