Ingredients
1 cup white rice
2 cups water
4 cups whole milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup raisins
Instructions
1. Cook rice with water until tender.
2. Add milk, sugar, and salt and simmer until creamy.
3. Temper the egg with hot rice mixture.
4. Stir egg into pudding and cook until thickened.
5. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and raisins.
Notes
Stir often to prevent scorching.
Add milk when reheating if needed.
Raisins are optional and can be substituted.
