Description

This One-Pan Creamy Sweet and Spicy Cajun Chicken Pasta recipe is a bold and comforting dinner featuring Cajun-spiced chicken, a creamy garlic sauce, and pasta cooked in one skillet. A perfect weeknight meal for fans of spicy chicken pasta, with just the right amount of heat and sweetness.


Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast

2 tbsp Cajun seasoning

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

1 tbsp honey

1 cup heavy cream

1 ½ cups chicken broth

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

8 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

1. Season the chicken breast with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.

2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken until golden and cooked through. Set aside.

3. In the same pan, melt butter and add garlic, red bell pepper, and yellow bell pepper. Cook for 4 minutes.

4. Pour in chicken broth. Stir in heavy cream, honey, and more Cajun seasoning. Simmer for 3 minutes.

5. Add dry pasta into the pan. Stir and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 12-15 minutes until pasta is al dente and sauce thickens.

6. Add a splash of broth or water if needed during cooking.

7. Slice the cooked chicken and stir it back into the skillet.

8. Add Parmesan cheese and mix well until melted.

9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

This dish is best served fresh, but leftovers reheat well with a splash of broth.

You can swap chicken for shrimp or sausage for a twist.

Use gluten-free or whole wheat pasta as needed.
