Ingredients
1 pound shrimp, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 scallions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
25 round dumpling wrappers
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine shrimp, garlic, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and salt. Mix well until sticky.
2. Place a dumpling wrapper on a flat surface. Add 1 teaspoon of the filling to the center.
3. Wet the edges with water, fold the wrapper over, and press to seal. Pleat if desired.
4. Line a steamer basket with parchment or cabbage leaves and arrange dumplings inside.
5. Steam over boiling water for 6 to 8 minutes until translucent and fully cooked.
6. Serve hot with soy sauce, black vinegar, or chili crisp.
Notes
Keep wrappers covered with a damp cloth while assembling to prevent drying out.
You can freeze uncooked dumplings for later—steam directly from frozen.
For crispy bottoms, pan-fry the dumplings with a bit of oil before steaming.
