Description

This simple lemon caper sauce recipe is a quick and flavorful finishing touch for seafood, chicken, or vegetables. Made with butter, lemon juice, garlic, and capers, it adds a bright, briny kick to any dish. Perfect for weeknight dinners or elegant meals, this sauce is easy, fast, and naturally gluten-free.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons capers, rinsed

3 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil, swirling to combine.

2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, avoiding browning.

3. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and capers. Let simmer gently for 1–2 minutes.

4. Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

5. If desired, stir in fresh parsley before serving.

6. Serve warm or at room temperature over fish, chicken, or vegetables.

Notes

This sauce is best served warm, but works well at room temperature.

Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest, cleanest flavor.

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.
