Description
This Slow Cooker Cranberry Glazed Brisket recipe combines tender beef brisket with a tangy-sweet cranberry glaze, making it perfect for cozy dinners or holiday meals. Keywords: cranberry brisket, slow cooker brisket, beef roast with cranberry sauce.
Ingredients
1 (3 to 4-pound) brisket
1 can (14 oz) whole cranberry sauce
1 cup beef broth
1 packet onion soup mix
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 medium onions, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Pat the brisket dry and season it with salt and pepper. Leave a thin fat layer if present.
2. In a hot skillet, sear the brisket on both sides for 3–4 minutes to develop a crust.
3. In a bowl, combine cranberry sauce, beef broth, onion soup mix, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar.
4. Layer sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker, place the seared brisket on top, and pour the glaze over it.
5. Cover and cook on low for 8–9 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.
6. Remove the brisket, let it rest for 10 minutes, and slice against the grain.
7. Simmer the remaining cooking liquid to thicken and spoon over the sliced brisket when serving.
Notes
Let brisket rest before slicing to keep juices inside.
Use a flat cut brisket for best texture and even slices.
Make a double batch of sauce if you love extra glaze.
