These slow cooker pineapple barbecue meatballs are a sweet, tangy, and savory favorite made with frozen meatballs, pineapple, and barbecue sauce. Perfect as an appetizer, potluck dish, or easy weeknight dinner. Crockpot pineapple meatballs, party meatball recipe, sweet and sour meatballs.
Ingredients
32 oz frozen meatballs
2 cups barbecue sauce
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple with juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, stir together the barbecue sauce, crushed pineapple with juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder until well combined.
2. Add frozen meatballs to your slow cooker. Pour the sauce mixture over them and stir to coat evenly.
3. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or high for 2 to 3 hours. Stir occasionally.
4. Once the sauce is thickened and meatballs are heated through, serve warm with rice, rolls, or as an appetizer.
Notes
This recipe works well with homemade meatballs too — just cook them before adding.
You can use spicy or smoky barbecue sauce depending on your flavor preference.
