Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons hot sauce
4 burger buns
1 cup lettuce
1/2 cup sliced pickles
2 cups cooking oil
Instructions
1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes to tenderize and add flavor.
2. In a bowl mix flour cornstarch garlic powder paprika salt and pepper to create the coating.
3. In another bowl whisk the eggs until smooth.
4. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture pressing gently.
5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked.
6. In a small bowl mix mayonnaise sweet chili sauce and hot sauce to make the bang bang sauce.
7. Toast the burger buns lightly for better texture.
8. Spread sauce on the buns add crispy chicken lettuce and pickles then top with more sauce and close the sandwich.
Notes
Use an air fryer instead of deep frying for a lighter version while still keeping it crispy.
Adjust the hot sauce level depending on how spicy you like your sandwich.
