Description

This Spicy Hot Honey Pizza recipe is the perfect balance of sweet heat and savory indulgence, featuring melty mozzarella, crispy pepperoni, and a drizzle of homemade hot honey. A must-try spicy pizza idea for dinner nights or entertaining, made with simple ingredients and bold flavor.


Ingredients

1 ball pizza dough

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup crushed tomatoes

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

20 slices spicy pepperoni

½ teaspoon chili flakes

3 tablespoons honey

¼ cup fresh basil leaves


Instructions

1. Let your pizza dough come to room temperature to make stretching easier.

2. Preheat your oven to 475°F and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.

3. In a saucepan, heat olive oil and sauté garlic for 1 minute. Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and a pinch of sugar if needed.

4. On a floured surface, stretch or roll the dough to your desired shape. Place on parchment paper for easy transfer.

5. Spread tomato sauce over the dough, top with mozzarella, then layer on the pepperoni. Drizzle olive oil around the crust edges.

6. Slide pizza (on parchment) onto hot stone or pan. Bake for 10–12 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.

7. In a small saucepan, heat honey with chili flakes over low heat for 5 minutes. Do not boil. Strain flakes or leave them in for extra heat.

8. Remove pizza from oven, drizzle with hot honey, and top with fresh basil. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

Use a pizza stone or preheated baking sheet for an extra crispy crust.

Customize the spice level by adjusting the chili flakes in the honey.
