Description

This spicy smoky roasted chickpeas recipe is the ultimate healthy snack—crispy, protein-packed, and flavored with smoked paprika and cayenne. Perfect for vegan, gluten-free, and plant-based diets, it’s easy to make in the oven with pantry staples.

Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly.

2. Pat dry the chickpeas using a clean towel and let air-dry for 15 minutes.

3. Place chickpeas in a bowl and add olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt.

4. Toss until chickpeas are fully coated in spices.

5. Spread the chickpeas on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.

6. Roast at 400°F (200°C) for 30–40 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through.

7. Remove from oven once crisp and golden.

8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let chickpeas air-dry for maximum crispiness.

Adjust cayenne to your heat preference.

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
