Ingredients
1 pound pizza dough
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
0.5 cup sliced pepperoni or salami
0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
0.25 cup marinara sauce (optional inside)
1 large egg
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a 10×14-inch rectangle.
2. Spread marinara sauce lightly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
3. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the sauce, followed by the pepperoni or salami.
4. Add a layer of grated Parmesan on top.
5. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log, then tuck the ends under and place seam-side down on a baking sheet.
6. Beat the egg and brush over the top. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and extra Parmesan if desired.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
8. Let cool for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with marinara for dipping.
Notes
Rest the dough for a few minutes if it resists rolling—it helps loosen the gluten.
Don’t overfill the stromboli or it may tear while rolling.
Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking while baking.
