Ingredients
12 oz rotini pasta
18 oz meatballs (homemade or pre-cooked frozen)
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare your meatballs. If homemade, cook them in a skillet until browned and fully cooked. If frozen, heat according to package instructions.
3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
4. Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth. Add in heavy cream, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta and meatballs. Pour in most of the sauce and mix to coat evenly.
6. Transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over the top and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbling and golden on top.
8. Remove from oven and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve warm.
