Ingredients
1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Cut steak into 1-inch bite-sized cubes. Pat dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak bites in batches until browned on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
4. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
5. Return steak bites to the pan and toss to coat. Add red pepper flakes if desired. Cook for another minute until glossy.
6. Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or in wraps.
Notes
Use sirloin, tenderloin, or ribeye for best texture.
Drying the steak before searing is key for a good crust.
Double the sauce if serving over rice or noodles to soak it up.
