Description

This Tacos Dorados recipe is a delicious and crispy Mexican favorite made with corn tortillas, shredded chicken, and traditional toppings. Ingredients

10 corn tortillas

2 cups cooked shredded chicken

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup vegetable oil

1 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup Mexican crema or sour cream

1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco or shredded cheese

1/2 cup salsa or hot sauce


Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken, garlic powder, and salt. Add a spoonful of crema or broth if needed to keep the mixture moist.

2. Wrap the corn tortillas in a damp towel and microwave for about 30 seconds to soften them.

3. Place 2 tablespoons of the chicken mixture on one edge of each tortilla. Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.

4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry each rolled taco seam-side down until crispy and golden. Rotate as needed for even frying.

5. Drain tacos on paper towels, then remove toothpicks.

6. Plate and top with shredded lettuce, crema, queso fresco, and salsa. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh, soft corn tortillas to prevent cracking when rolling.

Reheat leftovers in an air fryer or oven to keep the shells crispy.
