Ingredients
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
1 ½ cups pecans, toasted
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 large eggs
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Chill while preparing the filling.
2. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring often.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
4. Stir in the chocolate chips and toasted pecans until evenly distributed.
5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the filling into the chilled crust and spread evenly.
6. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until center is set but slightly jiggly.
7. Allow pie to cool completely before slicing for clean cuts.
8. Serve as is or with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Use toasted pecans for added depth of flavor.
Let the pie cool fully to firm up the filling before slicing.
Substitute maple syrup for corn syrup for a different twist.
