Description
Fluffy, buttery, and lightly sweet, these homemade Texas Roadhouse Rolls are perfect for dinner, holidays, or snacking. Made with honey and brushed with melted butter, these copycat restaurant rolls are a family favorite. Ideal for pairing with soups, roasts, and comfort meals.
Ingredients
1 cup warm milk
1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
¼ cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons honey
1 large egg
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus more for rolling)
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
1. Warm the milk until just slightly warm, then stir in sugar and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. In a large bowl, combine the milk mixture with honey, softened butter, egg, and salt.
3. Add the flour gradually, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled, about 1 hour.
6. Punch down the dough and roll it out to ½ inch thickness. Cut into 2-inch squares or rectangles.
7. Place rolls on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes.
8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 12–15 minutes until tops are golden.
9. Brush warm rolls with melted butter and serve.
Notes
Use fresh yeast for best rise.
Don’t skip the second rise for fluffier rolls.
Brush generously with butter for that glossy restaurant-style finish.
