Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 Thai chilies, sliced (adjust to taste)
2 shallots, finely chopped
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp neutral oil (vegetable or canola)
1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
Instructions
1. Peel and finely chop the garlic and shallots. Slice the Thai chilies and set aside.
2. In a small bowl, mix oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic, shallots, and chilies. Stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
4. Add ground chicken. Cook and crumble until no longer pink.
5. Pour in the sauce mixture and stir to coat. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened slightly.
6. Remove from heat and stir in the Thai basil leaves until wilted.
7. Serve hot over jasmine rice or your preferred base.
Notes
Use Thai basil for the most authentic flavor.
Adjust chilies to your spice preference.
