Description

This Ultimate Beef Chili recipe is a hearty, flavorful, one-pot comfort food made with ground beef, beans, tomatoes, and warming spices. Perfect for meal prep, game days, or cozy weeknight dinners. A delicious chili recipe that gets better the next day!


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 cup beef broth

2 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

0.5 tsp black pepper

0.25 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

2. Add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.

3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, and tomato paste. Cook for 1 minute.

4. Add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, kidney beans, and black beans. Stir to combine.

5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer uncovered for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne if using. Simmer another 10 minutes.

7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings or sides.

Notes

This chili thickens as it sits—leftovers are even better.

You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.

Double the recipe and freeze half for easy future meals.
